I go by the golden rule, excess of anything is bad, smile.gif dont think having one peg or so in a month is bad.

Guidelines for safe drinking

On an average 1-2 drinks per day is usually safe.
Not more than three drinks on any occasion.
Consumption of >3 drinks per day is associated with documented adverse effects.
Do not drive or engage in activities which involve decision making or reflex thinking.
Do not drink if an interacting drug has been taken.
Safe limits are somewhat lower for women than for men. Because metabolism of alcohol is slower and its bioavailability higher in women than in men.

NOTE:

1 drink= 50 ml= 50ml of spirits=150ml of wines=400 ml of beer, all have roughly 18-20g alcohol
From inability to be let alone; from too much zeal for the new and contempt for what is old; from putting knowledge before wisdom, science before art, and cleverness before common sense; from treating patients as cases, and from making the cure of the disease more grievous than the endurance of the same, Good Lord, deliver us...

Alcohol has for decades been considered bad for your heart. It's linked to high blood pressure, diabetes and heart attacks for a start; and people with heart disease, especially heart disease associated with high blood pressure, are almost always counseled to abstain completely.

effects of alcohol depend on sex, ethnicity,, duration and pattern.
hence there can not be a uniform limit of safe drinking.
definitely not more than 5 in males and 3 in ladies in one sitting(defined as binge!!)(western literature)
they have even put away with the old notion that type of drink matters but now it is wine vs the rest(wine less harmful)
